Combustion Modified High Resilience foams are primarily used in the Commercial furniture industry when the strictest fire code standards are required such as in hotels, Schools and the Hospitality sector. Foams must be tested according to the methods set out in the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations 1988. Only foams which pass the tests can be legally used in upholstery.
CMHR foam grades typically have up to a 65% flexibility rating, density ranging from 25 to 60 kg/m3 and hardness ranging from 120 – 200N. Fire retardant chemicals in the foam give the texture a grainy feel.
